To an atheist unable to prove his faith: Why We Know that the Gospels are not Fiction

I recently received a long e-mail from a reader who is a convinced atheist – but still can not resist attacking the teachings of Jesus Christ, revealing that his atheism is thoroughly unproven faith – while the teachings of Christ are not just faith, but proven knowledge.

It reads, among other things, “… I am very surprised at some (of my) biblical interpretations.  Now, you are said ro have been an ophthalmologist and therefore I presuppose a certain intelligence. “As I read it, you area  Christian,  and here and in other places, you are of the opinion that Jesus Christ returns and that before that the signs … “
Then questions follow.

Here excerpts from the mail and my answers:

Dear sir …..

That was a lot of questions at one time. In the course of the nearly 11-year-long existence  of this blog, I have often seen your arguments and put my arguments into the field.

Although I understand that your atheistic conviction is unshakable and that therefore my answers to you are irrelevant, I want to collect my arguments and answer your questions,  intending to publish this discussion on my blog without mentioning your name

First, I want to point out the term “Intelligent Design”.
As   science philosopher, Prof. Stephan Meyer says: The DNA-registered codes are super-intelligent design. In science, we deduce that an intelligent designer is behind intelligent design (CNSNews 10 July 2009)

Here you can see how intelligent designed and complicated synthesis of protein in cells is. And the process occurs hundreds of times every minute. Wonder why such a process very rarely fails. It is foolish to maintain that this is coincidence. and so it goes on with additional vital processes.

Even globalist Bill Gates says DNA is like a computer program – but much more complicated.

Another expression of the intelligent design can be found in the Big Bang.
Scientists today agree that discussing creation without God is absurd
However, the Masons among them believe that this creator created the world from bad matter – so they stick to their “good god,” Lucifer!

1. What tools do you need to be able to see this (after the nuclear attack)?
So which sunscreen should be used at a temperature of no more than 15 million degrees Celsius, or because you were an ophthalmologist: Which sunglasses would be suitable for this temperature or radiation?

You probably think of Matth. 24. Christ here describes what I see as nuclear war / World War III.
And he says that if these days were not shortened, no one would survive.
Now, of course,  people in zone 0 will burn off right away. After multiple nuclear bomb explosions, the fear is nuclear winter, which kills more slowly. Days after the attack our eyes will be able to see the 2. coming of Christ even without sunglasses from such areas – because it will be like when the lightning flashes from the east to the west, Christ says. Moreover, Christ´s  angels will then collect  his elect and remove them from the atomic hell.
But there is also the possibility that the nuclear attack is limited to the Middle East for the time being – as Freemason guru Albert Pike seems to think.
In fact, the Israeli elite  has set up a second Israel in Patagonia as a refuge.

2. By the way, why should this take place, anyway. Acc. to  the New Testament, Jesus said he will come back    in the lifetime of the disciples.
That’s not what Jesus said.
On the contrary, he said he did not know the day when that  was going to happen – only  God knows. As for John, what Jesus said was this in John 21: “22 “If I want him to remain” until I come, what business is that of yours?”
But Christ knew just as little as the disciples when that day would come – so he could not exclude that it would be in John´s life span.

Why it has to be ?? In his parable of tares in the wheat, Matth. 13: 28-30 Christ says:  “Wilt thou then that we go and gather them (the tares) up? 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn”.

3. …the alleged Pauline Letters (Most theologists claim that they are  all, or partly forged failed).
I do not do think so. But Paul was a theologian and probably expressed the words of Jesus – but in a weird way so that many people have misunderstood them – e.g. Luther who grasped  Romans 3:28 “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law ” disconnected from the context and verse 3:31  “Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law” .(As Jesus said in Matthew 5:17) “Elsewhere, Paul says that the commandments have been disregarded, losing the salvation of the towe.
The result is devastating: Luther de facto makes the baptismal certificate the largest indulgence letter of all time, while he attacked Tetzel’s indulgence! Today the “proclamation” is the pastor of the Danish national church. I only go to church for Christmas and funerals.

Why it has to be ?? In his parable of weeds in wheat, Matth. 13: 28-30 says: “He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn”.

3. the alleged letters of Paul (most theologians consider them either all or partly fake).
I do not  now. But Paul was a theologian and probably expressed the words of Jesus – but in such a way that many people have misunderstood them – e.g. Romans 3:28  “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. ” disconnected from the context and verse 3:31 “overlooked”): “Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law”.  (So said by Jesus in Matthew 5:17) “. Elsewhere, Paul says that whoever disregards the commandments loses the baptismal salvation.
The result is devastating: Luther de facto made the baptismal certificate the greatest indulgence letter of all time, while attacking Tetzel’s indulgences! Today, this is the “proclamation” of the pastors of the Danish national church. Therefore, I only go to church at Christmas and funerals.

4. … if the Bible is right, all that should already have happened.
I do not understand the question. In Matth. 5: 17-21, Christ affirms both the law and the prophets – and nothing more – which questions the rest of the Old Testament!

In the prophecies,  the very signs of the return of Christ are given – while Luke 21 and Matt. 24 and Jeremiah 25 describe the final scenario.

So, the following has not happened yet: that Damascus will become a “ruinous heap” (Isaiah 17) – whereupon, according to Ezekiel 38:39, Gog’s raid on Israel will take place.

What has already happened is Ezekiel’s chapter 35-part 38.

5. If Jesus, or Yahweh, had created the world, or were only present there, they should have known, that after all these events, neither humans nor other beings would be left on earth,
In Matthew 24 Jesus says: “22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

6: that the Bible is just a kind of fairytale / saga collection.
You have to prove that to me.
It is true that when the Sadducees and later the Pharisees found that Nebuchadnezzar had burnt down not only the temple in Jerusalem but also large parts of the scripts of the Jews, they had to reconstruct them. The prophecies were written in part in Babylon – and therefore the older prophecies were remembered for comparison. The Jews had / have a long history of oral tradition.

Therefore,  Christ also affirmed the prophecies in in Matt. 5: 17-21.

For example, as far as the books of Moses are concerned, there are at least 4 authors – so only 2 books, at the most,   can be ascribed to Moses.

7. You considered studying  theology
Well, in that case, your atheism does not surprise me. For theologians are concerned with “proving” that God does not exist.
In Flensborg Avis, e.g. I have had to argue against pastoral outrages, “To suicide candidates: My advice is to procure a handbook on suicide to make it effective” and “Man’s noble brand is to curse God in his face”  – and that´s apparently also your opinion!
But then do not forget: This is the only sin that will never ever be forgiven! (Mark 3:29).

8. … other scientists and others who have been thinking about these teachings have come to the conclusion that this is wrong and that it can not be right.
Well, then look at the planned fulfillment of the prophecies – e.g. Ezekiel 35-38

But I have another argument: the 3-dimensional photographic negative of a Roman crucifixed man  with all the characteristics of the Gospels about the Passion of Christ on the Shroud of Turin, which according to the Italian ENEA Science Academy is supernatural, because the imaging technique with the strongest UV laser could not be imitated in the world in Antiquity nor in the Middle Ages. (The Independent 20 Dec 2011).

All branches of science agree that this is not a fake.
A mysterious C-14 analysis by the satanic Vatican  supposedly showed that the Shroud  was made in the period 1260-1390 AD. After the investgations of atheist journalists Holger Kersten and Elmar Gruber (Das Jesus-Komplott, Langen Müller Verlag, Nünchen 1992) and after comparing the textures of the analyzed fabric samples (laboriously collected photos from the laboratories) and the shroud, it turned out that in the opinion of Europe’s highest expertise, the samples did not originate from the shroud. The scientific adviser to the Archbishop and Cardinal of Turin, Gonella, angrily admitted that the investigation was flawed – and that forces  stronger than the Church demanded  a medieval  dating of the Shroud.

Small swatches were submitted by STURP scientists Ray Rogers to vanillin  analyses. Acc. to these analyses, the Shroud  was  grown  much earlier. Acc. to Prof. Fanti the man on the Shroud lived between 280 bC – 220 AD. The fabric pattern is known from Judea in the 1st century. Rogers was a member of the 40-man scientist group STURP, which was allowed by the Vatican in 1978 to examine the Shroud for 4 days)

Now, if the most incredible part of the gospels, the resurrection of Christ, is pinpointed through  the Shroud, I am  in no doubt that the Gospels are otherwise correct, too.

The oldest gospel (Mark) is written between 66-70 AD – i.e.  people who witnessed the contents were stillwidely alive 33 years after the crucifixion of Christ and were able to witness the contents.
Presenting counterfeits would have been immediately labeled as lies and unreliability, which would have been devastating for the missionaries.

9. There is no historical evidence, outside of Christian scriptures, that the biblical Jesus ever existed

False: Wikipedia:   The Greek version of Joseph Flavius´Antiquities of the Jews has 2 passages mentioning Christ:  18.63-64: “3.3 and in the first paragraph of book 20, chapter 9.

But what about the events in the night and morning of his resurrection after he had been crucified?
The first Christians were in no doubt: They had seen their killed master alive and well 2 days and again later after his bestial execution, had even poked their fingers into his wounds. This made such an impression on them that these previous cowards, who ran away, when they were needed, started to openly tell about Christ, his parables, commands and the miracles they had seen – although they knew they risked their lives doing so. But many non-eye-witnesses have, of course, denied the resurrection of Christ as impossible. John 20:6  describes that John believed when he saw the Shroud
The following in detail here.
Something extraordinary apparently did take place in that first Easter night. Can the non-canonical Gospel of Peter explain what happened? WikipediaThe Gospel of Peter may have been a prominent passion narrative in the early history of Christianity. The first part of the Peter Gospel follows the canonical gospels.

The Acta PilatiWikipedia. The oldest section—an invented Report of Pilate to the Emperor Claudius, inserted as an appendix—may have been composed in the late 2nd century,  but most of the “Acts” were written later. The Acts of Pilate does not purport to have been written by Pilate,  but does claim to have been derived from the official acts preserved in the praetorium in Jerusalem. The Acta Pilati according to “The Early Christian Pilgrimage” confirms the gospels

I have read that Pontius Pilate´s secretary, Hormisius, and his life doctor, Euschstschu, would have been among the many witnesses.
For all uncertainty , in the first ancient Christan era, there does seem to have been a uniform imagination about what happened in that first Easter night in the year 33 A.D. Is there a more objective witness to the events in that night? Yes, the Shroud of Turin.

And then, of course, there is one of my favorite writers, Cornelius Tacitus, who about the year 100 wrote about Nero’s accusation against the Christians, that they had set Rome ablaze: “The originator of this name was Christ, who was punished by the procurator Pontius Pilate”. Tacitus believes that these Christians were wrongly accused of the crime, but also that theywere hated. (I’m sitting here with the text in Latin AB EXCESSU AUGUSTI XV: 42, 8-19.

10. The Old Testament is a plagiarism and the new one too. And they arose much later
See above.

11. It was also argued by some that Jesus later moved to India with Mary Magdalene and died there.
Well, many things are being said by ignorant souls. Dan Brown had come up with the idea that Jesus’ had a family which  emigrated to Marseille – and that the “Holy Grail” was in reality Mary Magdalene – and that the Merovingians were the (very evil) descendants of Christ. e.g.   the late Prince Henrik of Denmark has been said to be one and belong to the Prioré de Zion.
This story has earned Dan Brown a lot of money. I have read a book with Brown as co-author in this regard – and it went like this: If we assume that A behaves like this, B follows.  Since B has this nature, C is a logical consequence, which naturally implies D, and so on.

12. Even Bultmann, Rudolf pointed out in the early 50’s, as well as some before him, that this is just mythology.
Yes, Bultmann is probably the Messiah of  atheists – without any evidence for his fantasies.

13. … just by reading the New Testament thoroughly and thinking about it, one should come to the realization that this is only human work
You have to prove that claim!

14. According to John, God should have loved the world so much … How do you know that?
Because John says so – and Christ, too,  in John 14:15, 21 – concerning those who keep his commandments.

15. … and even if he had hung much shorter than people before or after him, what would that be worth? That should be enough for the salvation of the world, apart from the fact that something like that would not be necessary.
Of course, Christ died quickly – because the Shroud of Turin shows that he had received 120 lashes with the Roman cat (flagrum), while the usual dose was 40 lashes. This cat had lead lumps in the ends. These lashes caused bleeding in the chest cavity causing shock and shortness of breath. Of course, Christ already fell while wearing the cross

Read Luke 19: 33-34: They did not crush his shins because Jesus was already dead (an extraordinary and important feature to clearly be seen on the Turin Shroud-Photo). Then a soldier stabbed his spear into the side and water and blood flowed out (seen on the shroud as serum and blood cell zones between the right 5th and 6th ribs (blood type AB).) This corresponds to haemothorax with blood sedimentation (today also a diagnostic parameter)

That the blood is so well preserved, is due to bile, which enters the bloodstream during high stress.

What do we know about the need for the sacrifice of Christ?
God had become so angry at the unfaithfulness of his people, Israel / Judea, as he says time and again in the prophecies, that he intended to destroy all creation as in Genesis 6: 1-7, after he cast  the rebellious Satan out of heaven (Isaiah 14: 12-14, Revelation 12:12) who  ruined humanity then as now, today through Freemasonry and here and here.

Jesus seems to have asked to be able to win part of the lost humanity for himself and God through his becoming human, his  miracles, and the final proof of his divinity: His resurrection (John 17: 8). That´s why he had to be killed in a manner that there could be no doubt of his death. That he appeared again 2 days later without limping or wound fever in spite of his visible wounds just underscores the miracle,

16, I did not want to be lied to by the pastors /clergymen.
Neither do I. I believe the gospels and the letters of the disciples.
I can not use Paul. He was a theologian with a pharisaic background.
Even Peter said that Paul writes things that are difficult to understand – and that turns many into their own destruction (2 Peter 2: 15-16).
