The Daily Mail 17 July 2017: New findings on the Shroud of Turin were published in the US scientific journal, PlosOne, in an article titled ‘New Biological Evidence from Atomic Resolution Studies on the Turin Shroud.’
The Shroud of Turin is currently displayed at St John the Baptist Cathedral in Turin.
Elvio Carlino says the blood contained high levels of substances called creatinine and ferritin, found in patients who suffer forceful traumas like torture.

Right: Genuine Blood ot flax fibrils of the Shroud.
Already early studies showed the blood to be from a tortured person because of the blood´s high content of bile pigments– which also is the reason why the bloos remains so red
The new findings were published in the US scientific journal, PlosOne, in an article titled ‘New Biological Evidence from Atomic Resolution Studies on the Turin Shroud.’
The new findings contradict claims that the shroud was forged in the Medieval era.
Prof. Giulio Fanti said the characteristics of these particles ‘cannot be artifacts made over the centuries on the fabric of the Shroud.’
Researchers drew on experimental evidence of atomic resolution studies and recent medical studies on patients who suffered multiple acts of trauma and torture.
He said the research marked the first study of ‘the nanoscale properties of a pristine fiber taken from the Turin Shroud.’
The research was carried out by the Instituo Officia dei Materiali in Trieste and the Institute of Crystallography in Bari, both under Italy’s National Research Council, as well as the University of Padua’s Department of Industrial Engineering.
As you know I have written a lot about the e Shroud of Turin and here and here and here and here – stated to be supernatural by the Italian Academy of Science (The Independent 20 Dec. 2011). A Vatican attempt to disqualify the Shroud as genuine was shown to be a fake.
This Shroud goes on being a mystery to science – because the nature of science is never to believe in miracles or the supernatural.
And that attitude is just not scientific: Most scientists do not accept discoveries which will be made in the future. Just a handful og imaginative people bring science forwards. The limits of science is constantly changing. Just compare what science knows today for facts with what it knew 200 years ago: Semmelweiss in Vienna lost his Job because he washed his hands before delivering babies – thus eliminating mortal childbed fever – because he suspected the bacteria which Koch and Pasteur later on discovered.
Had some one in the period of 1500-1800 discovered penicillin, he would have been burnt on the stake for witchcraft.
Had someone 200 years ago talked about aircraft he would probably end up in a mental asylum.
